The “You Can Heal Your Life Conference” With Louise Hay
I recently attended a one-day “You Can Heal Your Life Conference” hosted by Louise Hay with guest speakers Gregg Braden, Suze Orman, David Hamilton, and Cheryl Richardson. After posting this on my Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Theodore-Henderson/604784843 I was inundated with emails asking me to share my experiences that day, which I am very happy to do.
There were approximately1500 people at an event that started at 8am and ended at sometime after 6pm with no lessening of enthusiasm by those in attendance. It was beautifully presented and everything was actually on time. If there were any hitches in the background, the audience sure wasn’t aware of them. Kudo’s to the organizers!
Some of the lessons I took from the day.
Appreciation, Gratitude, and Care are necessary to have cooperation, healing, and peace.
We should pay special attention to heretofore ignored wisdom of the ancient indigenous peoples such as our earliest forebears here in America. They had a unique ability, and in some cases still do, to read the cycles of nature and read the cycle of the past.
Nature gives us a window into the future. The smallest particle of an element is an atom which is some combination of protons and neutrons “orbited” by electrons. This pattern is key in nature and is repeated by our planet as well as others who have moons orbiting them. We circle the Sun and we are part of the Milky Way Galaxy which repeats this pattern on an unimaginable level. Finally throughout the universe this pattern is repeated.
Cycles are naturally occurring in nature and we are part of a cycle – the cycle of life.
Each time a cycle begins there is a seed event. For example, in the case of a person there is sex followed by pregnancy and then birth.
The 1929 collapse of the stock market and global financial systems of the then industrialized countries after finishing the wrenching pain actually was the beginning of a new unparalleled level of prosperity for a broader group of people in the world than ever before.
As a cycle ends it opens a “Choice Point”. This is the point where a past pattern can be changed and there is a move forward. We as a group and as individuals are forced to deal with dramatic change. However the opportunity itself may provide a small or large window of change that we must go through. Too many of us fight the change but there is no fighting the future. It comes no matter what you do to stop it.
We are in one such cycle now. The choice point now is? Are the responsible governments (notice I didn’t say 1st or 3rd world) of the world and the people that live in them going to choose love or fear? Either the way the concentrated power of mankind’s mental and emotional power is capable of initiating the shift.
Should we be afraid of 2012 which some predictions warn is the end of the world, or should we instead look closer at the wisdom of the ancient peoples who say the world will change dramatically but will not necessarily end.
The power of spiritual awakening and our commitment to it contributes to the planet.
Some of us are sleepwalking through life. The times we live in should serve as an alarm clock for us as individuals to focus on what is truly important in our lives. Therefore contribute to your own “extreme” self-care.
A certain amount of struggle makes us better as people if we embrace it and use it for good. In short, it is actually a good thing that we can’t instantly manifest our hearts desire, because if we could we would not be able to learn anything of value from our lives as we do when we make mistakes.
Many of us spend our lives “entertaining” people by fibbing or outright lying to them. Telling them what they want to hear or you think they want to hear as to not disappoint them or find yourself in a position where you are disliked because you state the truth as you see it. You should work to overcome this habit even though it’s a natural part of life. I am not saying that you have to be brutally honest, after all we don’t want to wound people, but you should be able to say what you think without be excoriated for it. Striving to be compassionately honest is something we should all consider.
Sometimes people are not going to like you and that isn’t always a bad thing. For example:
You may find that you are allowing someone talk down to you constantly otherwise you can’t be “friends”.
You are engaging in in immoral or illegal behavior to be part of the group.
You let people take advantage of you financially or in business. Is this really something you want or need?
The list goes on. The remedy is to piss off one “deserving” person a day! Then focus on being the best you can be.
To sum up it was a great day, great speakers, a great audience, and a fabulous looking full of energy Louise Hay!

Solution: Secure your client and customer base first, before you start up. Next, calculate your start-up expenses, plus five years, based on your guaranteed sales. This way, your start-up expenses will be manageable and you won’t need a loan!
3. Am I qualified for this business?
One of the things I counsel my clients against is starting up a new business that is more than two degrees different from anything else they’ve done before in their life or career. That’s because if you extend beyond three degrees it is likely that you’ll end up feeling overwhelmed with all that you’ll need to learn and do just to get up-to-speed.
Problem: You like helping people and running errands, so you want to start your own concierge business. It might surprise you to hear, though, that that may not be a close enough match to bridge easily. Certainly, being a “people person” is critical. However, you also need to know the surrounding area in which you work and all of the amenities offered. Are you good at multi-tasking? How good are your listening and communication skills? Do you have any experience owning a business or managing people? You also may need to be certified in certain areas, such as travel and hospitality.
Solution: One of the challenges of starting up a new business is making sure you have enough existing skills and experience in place to make a good fit for your new business. In this day and age you must be qualified, in the now!

I think the best answer to this question can come from someone who has done it.
Here is what Eckhart Tolle, in The Power Of Now, says about experiencing a life that is worth living, where there is enough joy and freedom in each day to express your unique and authentic self:
“It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for happiness now come to you with no effort or struggle on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them–while they last.
All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss anymore. Life flows with ease. The happiness that is derived from some secondary source is never very deep. It is only a pale reflection of the joy of Being, the vibrant peace that you find within as you enter the state of nonresistance.”
Yes, life can be wonderful, if you let it. And that is the trick: letting it be the way it is. In that space of allowing, new opportunities that you had not dreamed of come your way, and a new and splendid life comes to you of its own accord.
How does this happen? When you stop pushing, forcing, and trying to make things go a certain way; when you stop beating yourself up; when you stop berating the world for its obvious shortcomings; and when you stop using other people to be part of your internal script, then life itself begins to unfold the way that is best for you.
Your resistance to life is the cause of all your suffering. This resistance is expressed though struggle. This struggle, in turn, becomes increasingly more complex, exhausting you, and the harder you try to figure things out, the more confused you get.
We aren’t talking about becoming a sluggard, or not thinking, or not acting. We’re talking about creating sufficient inner mental quiet to observe what is actually happening so that you can effortlessly act intelligently in any situation. Our tension creates confusion, which then creates unintelligent living.
Allowing your life to flow with ease, then, is not about abandoning your goals and drifting or hoping something better shows up soon. Instead, it is about deciding what is best for you and allowing it to unfold in a very natural way, without coercion, second-guessing, or getting in your own way.
Once you lower your resistance to events, your mind becomes sharper and your energy is more expansive. All sorts of wonderful things then happen. Some of them are quite logical and make perfect sense. Others border on the mystical. Serendipidity and synchronicity start to show up more often.
Another way of describing this entire process is learning how to dance. Instead of grimly marching from one event to another, believing you are making some small progress and feeling unbelievably frustrated in the process, dance with life as it unfolds for you. Set your intention, release it, do what comes to mind as the best course of action, but stay mindful, stay open, and allow grace, ease, and lightness to inform your experiences.

Being a Mom is probably the most rewarding job in the world, but it can also be a job that is not recognized for the amount of work that goes into it and the time and stress it can bring a mother.
Stay at home Mom’s need inspiration every now and again, as much as anyone who works full time or part time in any job. I just want to highlight here that Mom’s are special and some of the reasons why they are so special.
In how many ordinary jobs does one person have to do the role of almost everyone in the company? Stay at home Mom’s have to be the CEO, the cleaner, maid, chef, taxi driver, psychologist, accountant and so many other jobs. The work of a stay at home Mom is incredible. Multi-tasking is not a good enough word, maybe super-multi-tasking would better describe what stay at home Mom’s do.
Mom’s, remember this and remember you are special, take inspiration from the fact that there are many people who just could not do what you do. Imagine the life skills you have now, I doubt there is much that you couldn’t turn your hand to now. You didn’t get an instruction manual when the kids were born, you learned all you had to by trial and error, maybe a little bit of learning from other people, but mainly you do this on your own.
Take inspiration from the fact that you are watching your children grow up, you will look back in the future and remember these magical times you had together, the good times as well as the bad. Motherly love is the most special love there is, it’s a special bond, take pride that you are making the most of this love and enjoy every moment.
