Positive and Negative Thoughts ? How the Subconscious Really Works
Positive and Negative Thoughts ? How the Subconscious Really Works
Higher Selves Quote:
The Thought Form Body is an invisible body that contains realities that have been created through every thought generated by any individual at any point in time. Within this envelope [energy field] dwells many different ‘yous.’ There is the ‘you,’ for example, who lives in this altered reality as an actual energy identity who is poor, who has no money. This altered reality has been created by you based on every thought you’ve projected dealing with a state of financial lack.
This altered reality that is the ‘you’ in a state of financial lack actually seeks to reinforce and empower itself, the altered reality that it has become. This then, quite outside of your conscious thought process, allows that altered reality to continue to grow and manifest its power and its authority over you in the physical form in the physical reality.
Imagine what it would be like to hold on to every thought you have ever had from the first moment you were born. Imagine that each thought was actual energy that did not disappear but hung out in some energy field surrounding you. And imagine that this thought energy had some magnetic qualities so that every type of thought you’d had over the years drew all other similar thoughts to it, like magnets with the same polarity. Then imagine that all these thoughts, or energy identities, have created actual altered realities in the space around yourself. And as you grew up, these energy identities, and the altered realities they created, became larger and larger with each thought.
To illustrate, let’s begin with an example of how thoughts create energy identities and how these, in turn, create altered realities.
Perhaps you’re someone who has focused on your weight throughout your life. Maybe as a small child you went through a chubby stage, and sometimes people around you would suggest that you refrain from a second helping. At first you paid it no mind, but then your consciousness took it in. You began to think that you were bigger than your cousins and friends the same age. You started thinking thoughts of needing to eat less candy and desserts. You found yourself rating how some friends or family members looked based on their weight. The issue built slowly for you as you went through being teased in school.
As an adult, you’ve struggled with your weight, trying diet after diet with limited success. And all this time, you’ve been harboring thoughts about being overweight. These similar thoughts are magnetically attracted to each other, building thought forms such as “I’m too fat,” “I eat too much,” “I’m a failure at losing weight,” and/or “I’m unlovable because I’m fat.” All these thought forms tirelessly develop an altered reality of your struggling with your weight.
Thought Form Body
Thoughts of every type have created thought forms in each of us. They come in all sizes—some tiny and some huge, with many in between, depending on the degree of thought put into them. As the Higher Selves stated in the above quote, the invisible envelope (energy field) around us, the place where these positive and negative energy identities call home, is the Thought Form Body. It isn’t actually a physical body but is instead held in an etheric energy field everyone carries with them. It contains all the thoughts of joy, fear, love, hate, hurt, illness, wealth, poverty, and ideas of the self, others, relationships, work, play, and on and on. All thoughts are held here, magnetically attracting similar thoughts from many sources, thereby building and strengthening all of our thought forms. They create all the altered realities that live with us in our Thought Form Body.
Suspending disbelief for a minute, let’s take this a few steps further by looking at how our mind works. Do we tend to think more positively or negatively as we go throughout our day? Most of you know the answer to this already.
For example, if we wake up feeling good, having had a good night’s sleep, we might think, “Oh, I feel great today! I have so much energy; I’m sure this will be a good day.” And then we go on our way and may never think of it again. Despite feeling really good, we actually tend to spend little time thinking about it. Feeling good helps us focus on the things we have to accomplish that day, resulting in thoughts geared toward those activities other than the state of feeling good.
But what happens if we sleep poorly and wake up with a backache, headache, or stiff neck? Don’t we often express a litany of complaints about it to friends or co-workers? And if a repairman or deliveryman comes by and politely asks, “How are you,” what do we say? If we feel good, we most likely just say, “Fine, and you?” But if our neck still hurts, we say, “Well, since you asked, I am having a bad day, starting with . . .”
The tendency to dwell on the negative outweighs our tendency to think positively, and every day we do so we strengthen those misery magnets. This means that when we look at the balance or the ratio of negative energy identities to positive ones, the scale weighs heavily on the negative side. This serves none of us well.
Drive to Manifestation
Thought forms are soulless and mindless. They lack consciousness. However, they carry the power of magnetic attraction. This magnetic energy is working 24/7. In fact, it does not just attract our own thoughts but all similar thoughts from many sources, including other people. This is not a conscious act any more than an actual magnet consciously attracts. What is the result of all this attraction?
The result of magnetic attraction is that the energy identities (and the altered realities they create) continue to build in strength. At the point that they’re strong enough, they manifest into our physical reality. In fact, their sole purpose is to manifest. The manifestation process from all of our energy identities is what forms our outer expression or, in other words, our lives.
For example, if it is cold and rainy outside, we may think throughout the day that we have to keep warm and dry so we don’t get sick. We see ads on TV about various cold remedies, which remind us to check what we have on hand just in case. We remember the time last year when we got the worst cold ever and had to miss work. Flu season is here and we plan to get a flu shot. We believe that all schools are breeding grounds for illnesses and have no patience for parents who send their children to school with a cold. We also believe that we are susceptible to every germ with which we come in contact. In this way, we are empowering our illness thought form (one that we already have) over and over again. And what do you know? Despite all our efforts to prevent it, we come down with a massive cold two weeks later and blame it on the time we spent helping out at our daughter’s pre-school.
In fact, getting sick was a result of the altered reality of illness gaining enough strength to manifest itself in our physical reality as a cold. It attracted the opportunity when you were asked to volunteer to read to your child’s pre-school class. This then triggered and empowered your beliefs (based on your thoughts) that you were now exposed to the germs that you were convinced would make you sick. And they did.
Isn’t it just that colds are contagious? No. If that were the case, every teacher, parent, and student who came in contact with children would get sick. Each individual responds to each situation based on what thought forms he/she is creating for him/herself. That is why some children/teachers have perfect attendance and others are chronically sick or somewhere in between. Of course, this process is more complex than I have presented. But the basic principles are the same.
Other examples are: If you have a large victim thought form, it will magnetically attract conditions that will make you a victim once more. If you have a failure pattern, the thought forms will bring in situations that will again result in failure. If you bring in mates that make you crazy with their infidelity, the thought forms may keep you in a cycle of betrayal. Thought forms are the source for the patterns we have in our lives.
Habit Body
In addition to the Thought Form Body, we also carry a Habit Body. The Habit Body is another invisible envelope of energy (field) surrounding us that contains imprints of every thought and every action. Thoughts create energy identities and habit imprints simultaneously. And as the imprints of similar thoughts get deeper and deeper, they become our most ingrained habits. As we smoke/worry/procrastinate/and so on, the imprints/ruts are reinforced again. In other words, the depth of a habit imprint in the Habit Body is relative to how often we have thought the thought and/or acted—the deeper the rut, the more automatic and intense the habit. There are no energy identities in the Habit Body, but the habit imprints empower the thoughts and vice versa.
Have you ever noticed that you wake up five mornings out of seven at the exact same time? Or that you get a cup of coffee without thinking before you start any project? Or that you put on your left shoe before your right one every morning? These are simple, repetitive habits that are easy to see and are relatively harmless in the scheme of things. Of course, we all have deeper and more complicated ones, so it is very important that we pay attention to all our habits. These habit imprints work with Thought Forms to reinforce our patterns. These two working together are in part what makes it so difficult to change things about ourselves with which we are unhappy. The more ingrained a habit, the more we act on it and think about it. The thought form gains power and then manifests again – and then again.
One of my habits for over ten years was to sleep only three or four hours a night. Once I’d wake up, I would never be able to go back to sleep, resulting in chronic exhaustion. Fortunately, by doing the exercises that the Higher Selves taught us, I was successful at changing this pattern, and those sleepless years are now a distant memory. Now I sleep at least five to six hours a night with few exceptions. I still wake up many nights, but the difference is I go back to sleep. Of course, five or six hours are not enough. Fortunately, I have continued to improve, sleeping seven plus hours a night at least three times every week. Habits can be changed, and you can do it too.
The Overall Picture
Remember that we live as humans in a Free Will Kingdom, that we choose how our lives unfold. If something happens that changes our thought patterns for a day or week, we will empower different energy identities and habit imprints and will, therefore, manifest differently than we did in prior weeks.
One example many can relate to is the unexpected death of a young friend or family member. The new vulnerability we now feel may make us realize that we have been complacent about life. As a result, we decide to focus more on preventing illness by eating healthy food and exercising. We also become more open to telling our family every day how much we love them and perhaps resolve to work harder to be a better person so that there are no regrets if we die young. Were we thinking this way before? No, but we are now. So our energy identities and habit imprints are changing as a reflection of the changes in our thought patterns.
What is more significant, however, is how often we are determined to change only to find our old habits return. How many of us with great intentions find ourselves back in the same place within days/weeks/months? How many times have we had to use the same New Year’s resolution because we didn’t accomplish it this year or the prior years? Why are there so many new diets on the market, multiple no-smoking aids, a myriad of solutions for depression, insomnia, etc? Why are there so many self-help books? Because for all our grand efforts and deep desire to change, we predictably find ourselves back in the same place, having made little lasting forward movement. This does not feel good. There are reasons why change is so hard and there is more to it than just thinking positive thoughts. Let’s take a look at the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Magnetic Attraction Clarified
Higher Selves Quote:
Thought forms are what carry the impact of what you will outwardly manifest. This is not a process that will be reached through affirmations or through consciously speaking words. For the process of thought forms is one that goes very, very deep. Thought forms are carried from lifetime to lifetime so that the buildup of these “altered realities” is very intense and very powerful.
What exactly is the Law of Attraction? It seems to be the basis of many metaphysical self-help books (including The Secret) and even has its place in some religious teachings. Simply stated, it posits that thoughts are energy and are magnetic in nature. They attract to you situations and people that match your predominant thoughts, whether conscious or unconscious. The bottom line, therefore, is like attracts like. The more positively you think, the more positive your life will be. Every individual is responsible for what they bring into their lives. Is there more to it than this? Yes.
There needs to be more than positive thought to create real change in your life. Of course, there are people who have changed their thoughts from the negative to positive, who have brought more good into their lives than before. But what does it mean for those of us who didn’t find success by thinking positively, yet worked as hard or harder than the others who did? What about those who achieved results but didn’t recognize that what they got was either the exact right result (even if unexpected) or that it was only the first step in a process that would lead them to the final goal? What about the patterns that keep recurring in life despite the efforts to change them? Or the emotional upheavals that make us behave in ways we’re not proud of?
What has been missing in the prior teachings on the Law of Attraction is the fact that it has not been fully understood. The Higher Selves didn’t change the Law. They explain how it works. And there are two misconceptions that need to be cleared up. The first one is that a positive thought does not negate or replace a negative thought. It only empowers the positive energy identities while the negative ones remain to also magnetically attract negative situations, conditions and people into our lives. Because we harbor so much more of the negative, the positives we empower through our thoughts are still extremely weak compared to the powerful negatives.
The second misconception is that even if you never think a negative thought ever again, it doesn’t mean that the negative energy identities go away. Once created, the thought energy exists forever. Leaving those negative altered realities in place is what makes it so difficult for us to change. Whether negative or positive, the energy remains in place in our etheric bodies as thought forms and habit imprints. When these are positive, we can rejoice. When they are negative, we are concerned with what we do about them. What we must do is to neutralize the negative energies to render them harmless and incapable of magnetically attracting anything that could hurt us. Neutralizing the negatives and using that energy to empower our light is the key to change. Again, the Higher Selves didn’t change the Law of Attraction but added details about how it functions.
The Shift From Victim to Taking Charge
Once we accept that we are living in a Free Will Kingdom, and that we are making both conscious and unconscious choices that create our experiences, we can find our way to take responsibility for what happens to us. So the shift goes from blaming someone, something or some event for our problem/s to looking at ourselves and asking, “Why did I bring this into my life?” “How can I change this reality?” Or “How can I prevent it from happening again?”
There is no judgment here. We are not all screw-ups who just can’t get it right. Instead, we acknowledge that we are all experiencing the human condition. Everyone has challenges to face, joys to experience, moments of wonder and moments of despair. What will be explained is the way to be actively involved in how your life unfolds. There is no magic pill to take and presto . . .you have changed. If it took years and lifetimes to develop our patterns, undoing these patterns won’t be instantaneous. However, with consistent effort, we can change our patterns, find what was hidden and untapped, and definitely improve our lives significantly.
In a year from now we will all be one year older. We can still be in the same place, coping with the same issues. Or we can use the simple Higher Self techniques and make this year and every year a witness to us becoming much more of what we want to be. We understand our conscious choices. And now we understand how our own thought forms and habit imprints, through the process of magnetic attraction, work with our conscious choices to create the outer expression we call our lives. Someone else isn’t creating our lives. It isn’t Mother Nature, your jerky boss, or a vindictive god picking on you. We are busy making and playing out our patterns consciously and unconsciously, then, taking what life gives us and handling it as best we can. Now is the time to be in charge but it is wrong to just focus on the positive and neglect the negative. There are techniques available to enable us to do the neutralizing we need to do. We are not doomed. We are not stuck. We are not powerless.
An author and personal coach, Janet Richmond’s book: “Choices-Neutralizing Your Negative Thoughts and Emotional Blueprints” details a process which allows each individual to find they have the power and the ability to break the patterns that keeps so many people stuck in the same place year after year. Richmond successfully coaches (on a one-on-one basis) and also teaches (to groups) the life-changing technique of how to neutralize the negative thought forms everyone carries.

Getting Good Quotes from Erie Insurance Agency
Getting Good Quotes from Erie Insurance Agency
It is a very unfortunate fact but it is a reality that many American families and many American drivers are bailing out on insurance. A good number of drivers are on the road without insurance. Indeed, many do not see the necessity of driving with insurance. Because many families are facing financial difficulties, many are deciding not to make insurance payments. However, we all know how it really is not safe at all to drive without insurance coverage as accidents can and will happen in the road! The good news is that if you are driving in Pennsylvania there will always be one Erie insurance agency who will be a able to give you good car insurance quotes with amazing discounts.
If you would like to shop around for good car insurance rates then you may want to check out the world wide web. A good Erie insurance agency should be able to give you a really good quote online in just a matter of minutes. If you are shopping for insurance rates online, then make sure to give all the necessary information that will help them determine how high or how low a risk you are as a driver. Often, female drivers are considered less risky. Statistics show that in 2008 there were a total of 197 road accident fatalities in Erie. 76 of these accidents were found to be caused mainly by male drivers, while 33 of these accidents were caused by female drivers.
Also to be considered when computing driving risk factors is the type of car that you drive and where. Erie is generally a safe place to be in but if you are driving a very flashy car in communities with high crime rates and where car theft is high then you might have to pay a bit more for your insurance premiums. This is especially true if you are choosing comprehensive coverage aside from the minimum coverage required by law.
Ask any Erie insurance agency for their rates and at the very least you will be given a quotation that will cover what is required by Pennsylvania state laws. Pennsylvania requires a 15/30/5 coverage. 15 stands for ,000 for the bodily injury liability that your insurance will cover for every individual involved in the accident. 30 stands for ,000 covering bodily injury liability for two individuals involved in every accident. 5 is for ,000 to cover property damages. Of course you can opt for more coverage than what is required by law. You can choose comprehensive coverage. This type of coverage is recommended if you have a really expensive vehicle that will be difficult to replace in case it is severely damaged in an accident or in case it is stolen.
It also is a good idea to check your medical insurance coverage to see how much of the medical bills for the treatment injuries incurred in a vehicular accident is actually covered. If you have very minimal or limited health coverage then you may want to include PIP or personal injury protection in your vehicular coverage. Weigh your options carefully. You Erie insurance agency should be able to assist you well on these matters.

How to Change Your Life?
How to Change Your Life?
The first thing you should know and understand is that feeling a need for change and feeling that certain things in your life are not the way they should be (and this is often an emotion somewhere deep inside you that slowly you need to pay more attention to) is absolutely normal. What is more, you should be grateful for experiencing such a feeling even if for the time being it’s the reason for your frustration or despair. Be grateful because now you have the chance to move forward, now you can get the possibility to work things out. If you didn’t experience temporary dissatisfaction with your life, what would be the engine driving your development? People need to suffer to make changes and develop – this is for sure one of the oldest rules of life.
I don’t know what is wrong with your life and what you desire to change but I know certainly that the moment you really acknowledge that certain things are wrong and need to be changed is the moment of your success as a human. Being human means to develop permanently so that you can say about yourself that five years ago you were different and thought differently. People have the power to change but very frequent they choose a different way. Very frequent they decide to waste their lives allowing life circumstances to make decisions for them. For those people the moment of understanding comes usually in the last moments of their lives when they state that there are plenty of things they regret not having done.
But being human also means not to know where to go and what to do, at least not from the beginning and at least for certain periods of time. It’s normal and it should be acknowledged the moment it arises. Blaming oneself for feeling lost and for the impression that everyone seems to move forward except oneself is not better than giving up without trying. And the same is with pitying oneself. Is there any reasonable reason why people should torture themselves with their own fears and doubts? Not knowing what the next future will bring is very human and every knowledge comes from experience. So instead pitying or blaming themselves people should accept their imperfection and allow themselves to have time to find the proper path. Dissatisfaction without self-aggression is the best starting point.
There is a great number of books, audio or video materials and seminar offers promising to bring change into people’s lives. To be honest with you – people didn’t need them if they could understand that everything to make changes lies already in their hands but this is very rarely the case. In the majority people need permanent guidance, assistance and motivation on their way of development and this is in fact what they can get from those books and materials. Anything to be ashamed of? Not at all. It’s human to ask for help and learn from the experience of others.
And how can you start changing your Life?
Well, you are reading this meaning that you have already started looking for help and knowledge. And this means that a dissatisfaction must have arisen inside you and forced you to doubt certain things in your life and make you imagine that changes are possible. But this in not only an imagination, this is a reality you have already started heading towards. Now it’s only a question of time.
But there are two things that distinguish real and effective Changesseekers from those who only live in a world of dreams:
1. real changes come from real decisions as – following the words of Anthony Robbins – destiny is made in the moments of decision making
This is the part where you are on your own because no one else can decide for you what needs to be changed in your life. And when everything is to be changed, it’s up to you where the priority lies. Taking over control of your life begins with the decision what should be your first focus and what should be the next one.
2. real decisions lead to consequent and committed actions
Decisions stay abstract as long as the first move hasn’t been done. When you have made your decision, don’t waste it doing nothing. Nothing comes from nothing but every action leads to something and there should be nothing holding you up from doing the right things. Controlling your life is like controlling your body. You move your right arm because you decide to do it.
Everyone has to start somewhere and somehow. And unfortunately, there is no one best way to start changing one’s life. However, some steps to go through are mentioned by everyone who has managed to make a change:
1. it starts with a feeling of dissatisfaction or frustration
2. the suffer connected with this feeling forces one to make a decision
3. the changing begins with actions following the decision as only action taking is the measure to free oneself from suffering
This is how it goes – we can call it the core happening – and this is what you will experience as well. The rest is only an addition but an addition that needs to be focused separately.
change your life, how to change your life, change your thoughts change your life, power to change
How to reach the highest level of Internet Business success?
What makes a difference between making money and playing the first role in a great success story…
It’s true that finding a complete and easy-to-set-up Internet Business system or machine that can generate profits in a reasonable period of time has become quite easy nowadays. The Internet seems even overloaded with offers promising quick money and financial independence when only a few techniques and rules are applied and followed. Of course, every potential purchase should be treated with cautious as not everything that shines is gold and is worth paying the demanded amount of money. But basically it’s true that generating profits needs a good functioning Internet Business system and this knowledge is available on the Internet. It’s only a matter of choosing the right system and not trusting each offer one can come across.
And when everything is true we said in the first paragraph, the question arises why only a few can turn the purchased system / techniques into real and great profit success when the needed knowledge is available for all (anticipating that almost everyone can afford spending 40-100 USD for such a system)? Why gaining financial independence through the Internet is still reserved for some kind of elite and the majority of people can reach only a certain level of profit success? Is it that the most of Internet Business owners is not competent enough or is there any information that is not revealed on purpose by those selling the systems and techniques? Because there has to be a reason for the fact that very often purchasing one solution seems not enough and people don’t stop looking for a better one even if the available systems are more or less comparable.
Of course, it might be true that there are things that we don’t get to know from the Internet Business experts because they want to keep us as customers or just don’t want to create a too strong competition (and many decide to enter the Internet Business advice market as it’s still very profitable). But in my opinion the real problem is the expectation people have starting an own Internet Business, which mainly comes from what is promised in a purchase process of the earlier mentioned systems and techniques.
And the expectation is usually as follows:
When I purchase an Internet Business system from an expert or guru, learn all the techniques and rules, implement all the system parts, I will get a fully automated income generating machine and I can lay back at home and watch my bank account growing and growing. And everything in a short period of time with hard work at the beginning and minimum engagement later on. Creating an automated money making system allows me to enjoy my life without the need of additional effort. This is more or less the expectation people have and they are not to blame for it because this is the impression you get when reading sales offers.
And this expectation causes all the trouble and blocks Internet Business starters and owners from reaching a higher and the highest level of success. Why? Because it’s true that you can set up an almost fully automated income making machine but it’s absolutely not true that afterwards you can lay back and do nothing! You just need to look at your chosen Internet Business expert! Do you get newsletters from this person? Do you get new products? Do you see improvements in the acting of this person? Do you see changes in general? Do you get recommendations? Is this person present at different Internet places? Is this person mentioned and referred to by others? Do you get what I mean?
Internet Business is a career decision like any other. And if you decide to follow this path, you need to acknowledge that from now on this is going to be your major or maybe the only field of money making activity meaning that you need to put every effort to develop and improve your Internet Business skills to the highest possible level. You can set up a profitable Internet Business system but this is only the beginning.
Real success comes through becoming a real Internet Business owner and this is only possible when you begin developing a specific attitude we can call “The Internet Business Personality”.
And what is the “The Internet Business Personality” in detail?
1. It’s the readiness to devote oneself totally to the Internet Business idea meaning that one is ready to spend as much time as necessary to develop this business.
2. It’s the comprehension that there is no engagement end for someone who really want to become financially free through the Internet.
3. It’s the willingness to learn every day from the experience of others and most of all from one’s own mistakes.
4. It’s the acceptance of the fact that the real great success results from engagement and constructive work. Luck doesn’t matter much.
5. It’s the openness to everything that can help your skills to develop and your business to grow.
6. It’s the readiness to go public and to face the public’s opinion about one’s acting meaning that you will come across extremely negative people.
7. It’s the willingness to fight one’s own fears and become as public as necessary meaning that people from your business field should know and recognize you. No anonymity, no shame possible!
8. It’s the understanding that there has to be something more than the desire to make income. Real success comes when people believe that the business is done most of all to help others.
So, this is what makes “The Internet Business Personality” and everyone who thinks seriously about doing Internet Business should take this into consideration.
The dream of great success and financial independence is a very realistic dream but the expectation that this is not connected with a lifetime devotion is not correct. And this is something they don’t tell you because it’s the most obvious thing on earth that this knowledge needs to be experienced and not explained. Mastering comes through practice – this is true for the Internet Business as well.

Louise Hay Affirmations – How can guys support and appreciate women?
Louise Hay Affirmations can assist you value your self…
Men: have you ever had that second of panic around her birthday / Xmas / Valentines Day and you realize you haven’t got any idea what present to get? That anxious sensation that whatever you get her will probably be represent your love. Have you ever felt that if you ever purchase the incorrect thing, you will be accused of not understanding her, or even maybe not caring or appreciating her enough?
Women: do you feel let down in relationships? Do you believe your current man and men in your past have not taken time to comprehend you? To appreciate you? Do you feel unsupported in your desires, goals and ambitions at times? Perhaps you have just had the misfortune of dating a collection of losers?
Guys if it is possible to answer yes indeed, you are in for a annoying time.!!!. you’re most likely with a woman who does not value herself. Women, if you can respond of course, particularly if this reminds you of several past relationships, you’re probably a woman who doesn’t assist and appreciate herself.
Being inside a relationship with somebody who cannot help and appreciate themselves is very much a difficult one. When someone cannot do some thing on their own, they have a tendency to look towards the individual nearest to them to fulfill that role. That is lots of stress to place on a person plus a romantic relationship. In order to play that function you’d need to understand that person’s wants and needs much better than they do. Unless you have special telepathic abilities.!!!.it’s not feasible guys.
Well the response is your responsibility, your choice. For guys, you may have to think about whether you’re attracting women who cannot help themselves and if it is exactly what you want. For women, consider if you often wish to live within a relationship where your requirements usually are not met.
What I can do today, is give a couple of suggestions to women to help them help and value themselves.
First of all there’s a negative belief that is very much making you feel you might be incapable of supporting and appreciating yourself. Can you recognize what that is? Maybe you do not feel you deserve appreciation, or even that you simply are not strong enough to assistance yourself. You could really feel that you simply require somebody outside of you to ultimately affirm your identiity.
To work these patterns out, get yourself a pretty big sheet of paper and pin it in the wall. Write at the very top of the sheet assisting and respecting yourself”. Underneath write all the items you are feeling about helping and respecting your self. Anything you are able to think of.
When you’ve got done with that identify which of the issues that you have created that are negative. Try and adjust these to constructive statements. For instance, for those who have created the assertion “I am not able to supporting myself”, you can alter this to, “I have assisted myself economically my whole adult life, and so i am capable of supporting myself in one particular zone of my life. If I am effective at helping myself in this zone of my life, I am able to helping myself in others.” Think of a statement that is in fact more positive and keep saying it to reverse the negative belief.
After you have done this exercise begin concentrating on the optimistic. Create a number of constructive affirmations to do each AM in front of the mirror. Louise Hay books really are a fantastic start for these. You might also go to Hay Affirmations because of their cost-free affirmation course.
So, are you able to alter you beliefs about yourself? Yup you’ll be able to, but you need to assume responsibilty for the process. You create your circumstances via your optimistic thoughts, and so you really are responsible for your own life. What an empowering thought!
Hope these ideas help, if anyone has any more ideas to assist women help and respect themselves I’d love to see them within the comments below! Utilize Louise Hay Affirmations to value yourself!

The necessity of critical thinking in Martial Arts
The necessity of critical thinking in Martial Arts
As a scientist, I have often encountered teachers who considered the epistemological approach as an aberration in the study of a Budo, sometimes even like an insult directed towards their work or their own persona. Today, I would like to discuss the benefits there are in studying a Japanese martial art (taking my own speciality, Aikido as example) while keeping in mind what the Enlightened have brought to us.
We are living in a time where pseudoscience and superstition enjoy a great popularity. This would be quite harmless if it was not undermining our critical thinking and by extension, our general knowledge. The human brain has this tendency to seek for meaning within all the experiences that we encounter every day. While this capacity is essential for helping individuals to make sense of the various stimuli that they are constantly subjected to, it sometimes misfires, leaving us in desperate “need” of quick and simple explanations to concepts that can be difficult to grasp. According to Daniel C. Dennett, a famous professor in cognitive sciences; the fact that science admits holding only a limited amount of knowledge can become so intolerable for our spirit that we will tend to seek elsewhere some absolute truths, unchanging and therefore reassuring: dogmas. It is in these gaps left by science that we can often find the most detestable methods and discourses.
The essential challenge for today’s martial art practitioner is to manage dealing with a certain duality. The strict etiquette of our arts makes it rather difficult to explore and experiment on new ideas. Although progress only comes from a critical state of mind, these notions are quite unwelcome within a dojo. Indeed it would be intolerable to see a student interrupting endlessly the class, asking for further explanations or contradicting the teacher. What is there to do then? How can we make cohabit in the most fulfilling manner a heritage coming from the times of Samurai with a modern thought process, all this without having one undermining the other?
Within religion, belief in the absence of evidence is considered as a virtue but if carried within the practice of martial arts, it becomes a problem. Of course the comparison Aikido/religion does not seem pertinent to me since Aikido has not been conceived in such a way by its creator (see the interview of André Nocquet, a direct student of O Sensei Ueshiba). It is not, of course, in our ideals of peace, neither in our codes, nor in our rituals that we have to seek for a religious manifestation. Every sport has its own codes and these are more rooted within a warfare heritage (teams/armies, colours/uniforms, position on the pitch/battlefield) than a religious practice. However, I happen to think that it is precisely in the intellectual submission and in the acceptation of anything and everything that we tend to lean towards the religious.
I have heard on many occasions teachers claiming that they, and no one else, held the only true Aikido, as O Sensei was doing it. They generally illustrate these claims by opposing their approach to the one of other teachers, implying that these poor souls are doing fake Aikido if not, no Aikido at all. The reasonable stance is to stay sceptical in front of those who hold these kinds of discourses, if only because such claims are by definition mutually exclusive: if one is right, therefore all the others are wrong. How, as critical, yet open minded practitioners, can we get out of this nonsense? Obviously, we cannot challenge all our teachers in a deadly fight or ask them to privately demonstrate to us their might at each class. Keep in mind that we are practicing a Do, not a Jutsu. On the other hand, the attitude of being slightly sceptical should not necessarily be considered as a lack of respect. A sceptic is someone rather curious, and interested in many things. If otherwise, he would not invest time and energy into studying a discipline or a subject. The most important thing to keep in mind is that a sceptic is by default ready to accept anything as long as a convincing body of evidence is present to support the phenomenon. As descendants of the Enlightened, we should be sceptical budoka, critical towards ourselves, our knowledge and our art while respecting our teacher and the essence of our discipline. We must of course stay open minded and lucid in front of our own ignorance in many subjects. Here is a difficult task to carry out, but not a dichotomy however!
In some places, the sheer fact of pronouncing the word “scientific” becomes an insult, a “faux pas” that the experienced practitioner would never commit and that the novice would be barely forgiven for. The words “non-overlapping magisteria” that we owe to the prestigious palaeontologist, Stephen J. Gould, often come back to my mind. According to Gould, there are domains in which science has no right of entry. Although he is clearly referring to esoteric matters and religion, I think that a lot of people which I would describe as “mystical frauds” would gladly see this rule be applied in martial arts too. We often hear people say that a discipline that has existed for a thousand years cannot be wrong or else, it would not have lasted for so long. I would say that on the contrary, if the discipline in question has not changed (progressed) along with our general knowledge, it is very likely that it will be plain wrong, or in the best case scenario, enormously incomplete. Take the theory of relativity as an example, it is agreed that any reasonably good graduate student in Physics understands relativity better than Einstein ever did. I let you draw the parallel with Aikido if you feel like it… The consequence of this is that science has heroes and texts containing groundbreaking ideas but no prophets and certainly no books of revelations. This crucial difference is the condition sine qua non for any progress to occur.
To come back to Stephen J. Gould’s proposition and although I have the greatest respect for his work, I would have to say that on the contrary to what he said, I think that it is crucial that science should be left free to investigate every aspect of our human experience. Science has no agenda, no dogma; a scientific theory is doomed to always eventually being proved wrong or incomplete and to be replaced by a better one more in accordance with the facts; reality. Science is the spirit filled with wonder of the child that discovers and experiences the surrounding world free from all preconceptions. It is however true that science currently lacks the tools necessary for the study of phenomenon such as Ki but nothing leads to think that it won’t change. We should therefore stay open minded but also critical as regards to claims that some ill intentioned or ill informed people might make.
While we are talking about Ki, I always wondered why the most famous masters had this tendency to only demonstrate their prowess on their on students. The reason which is often given to us is that it would be “too dangerous, that it takes training to be able to take it”. There is a good example in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdrzBL2dHMI).
Right, in boxing; you don’t give an uppercut to a beginner. This argument sounds reasonable but it unfortunately also makes their claims hard to verify. The question I am asking is purposefully direct but not impertinent, nor disrespectful (I really mean this but I also know that some people will jump on any occasion to justify them feeling offended; be my guest). It is honestly and without malice that I ask these questions. After spending many years practicing budo and looking for these manifestations, it is actually likely that deep inside, I kind of wish that all these incredible powers exist. There are a few people who have accepted challenges to prove that their prowess were true… but with little results as is shown in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEDaCIDvj6I) where a Ki master gets punished by a MMA fighter. About MMA, these lots have their own belief system too but I will spare them for a subsequent article.
Besides exposing a fraud, this video illustrates quite vividly the auto mystification that this so called master suffers from. It is one thing to put your students in danger by teaching them mumbo jumbo but it is an entirely different thing to put yourself in the ring. The bottom line is that to do so, you have to firmly believe in your stuff. This video also leads to an interesting reflection when we realise that it is probably his own students, by their submissive attitude, who led their master to such degrees of self deception; who said there was no justice? Coming back to the first video, it is interesting to notice that it shows a very powerful feat of the human mind: the power of suggestion. The students, while they are convinced by the powers of their teacher, become automatically much more susceptible to suggestion. As we see, they fall down and suffer of an acceleration of their pulse accompanied by an abundant sweating. On the opposite, sceptic strangers remain unaffected if somewhat amused after being subjected to these contact less strikes. The famous astrophysicist Carl Sagan once said “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidences”. The point is that it is up to the people coming up with these special feats to give the proof of their existence, the reasonable attitude being to remain sceptic unless proved otherwise.
But what about all this progress that we inherited from the Enlightenment? Is it really a good thing and is it transmissible to Aikido practice? It is well accepted that our society as a whole is less aggressive and more open; exchanges between countries having never been so rich and numerous (unless racism, obscurantism, religious fundamentalism and greed come back into action). From an individual’s point of view, we live longer, more comfortably and we are in better health. Of course, everything is not perfect and consecutively to these waves of progress, we have had to face new crucial challenges such as global warming, reduction of biodiversity, increased needs in food and drinking water and so on. I think, however, that the attitude which consists in rejecting everything modern while saying “things used to be better” shows a great incapacity in apprehending the present. The Chinese philosopher, father of taoism, Lao Tzu illustrated this fear of progress very well more than 2000 years ago when he said “experience is like a candle attached to one’s back, it only lights up the path already travelled”. Let us be serious for a moment, and youngster, even if he spends more time than is really good for him in front of the TV watching Fame Academy is not dumber than its counterpart 100 years ago, he is of course far more educated. It is also a bit dishonest to criticize progress when one benefits from all the advantages of living in an industrialised country where we can have access to scanners, chemo-therapies and where the infantile mortality is amongst the lowest in the world. Fortunately for the human species, this reactionary stance is not the common feeling and to only talk of what I know well, I would like to salute the outstanding work of the great majority of biologists who work on how to resolve the major issues that our planet faces in spite of a distrustful public opinion and unhelpful governmental policies.
For me, it is precisely this incapacity to question things which is our greatest challenge in traditional martial arts. We have this tendency to raise some people up to the status of icons possessing unreachable mastery. Of course, we do this, only relying on great deals of tales and second hand stories about their supposed supernatural capacities. MMA practitioners and other competitors have understood this well and mock us about this quite often. It is capital for us to accept the idea that we can and we should become better than our masters on a physical level as much as on a mental one. If Aikido did not evolve or improve but on the contrary, suffered from the fact that each student could not become better than his master, there would be very little remaining of what Aikido’s founder Morihei Ueshiba created. Somebody like Ueshiba Sensei was very ahead of his time in terms of mentality with his universalistic vision and his insistence on the peaceful resolution of a conflict while at a time of global war and living in an ultra-nationalist country. He was a hero of his time but to the light of today’s moral values, his opinions can now sound as very retrograde. Another vivid example is Abraham Lincoln, the heroic 16th American president who, by today’s standards, would be considered a racist and a bully. These people are therefore models in the context of their time but they cannot escape the criticism of our current society and the investigation using our modern knowledge. It is our duty to do better than them, we now know better!
In Aikido, we must give up the kind of discourses held by those who do the only true Aikido of the founder because we saw earlier that these kinds of statements are unreasonable. The only person who did the founder’s Aikido was the founder himself. Indeed, what we do is different but we must embrace this fact in order to go forward and make our discipline enter the 21st century proudly, not turning our backs to the future like the orphans of a patriarch that we never actually even met. We must see in each student of Aikido an opportunity for a new reflection, a new sensibility, a new interpretation of the fundamental principles that the founders showed us and certainly not like a corruption of Ueshiba’s teachings. This is precisely our critical thinking that will keep us from this degeneration and allow us an evolution.
To conclude, I am far from denying all that is not explainable in martial arts, I would even say that it is obvious to anyone who looks that the great masters of martial arts perform outstanding feats. However, it is only if we keep an open mind, critical thinking but also a respectful attitude that we will be able to access to the mastery of these things. They seem only supernatural because we do not understand them well and because we tend to mystify them. Supernatural and godly is always located at the limit of our knowledge. Even Newton, the brightest mind that walked this earth could not help but feeling that way. Whether we are talking about Ki or judicious timing and placement while respecting the physiological axis (bio-mechanics), it is through this shift of perspective that we will truly reach a deeper and more thorough understanding of our discipline. An analogy could be a child who would watch a stage magic show in amazement from the audience and later, would go to see the show again from backstage. In Aikido, it is when we try to be more Japanese than the Japanese that we deny our inheritance because in these times, we deny to ourselves the possibility to apprehend our discipline with our own occidental sensitivity in spite of the fact that this art has been conceived to be universal.
Descartes taught us to ask questions so let’s dare asking them, but let’s do it politely, respectfully and let’s stay open to all that this universe has of mysteries and wonders but without pouring the syrup of superstition all over it and without wrapping it with the cheap, shiny paper of mystification. This, to me, is the key to build up this famous golden bridge that should unite Orient and Occident so the two can at last understand each other well.

Success Factors For A Successful Home Business-Who Dares To Ignore!
Success Factors For A Successful Home Business-Who Dares To Ignore!
Everyday, thousands of people the world over join the ranks of entrepreneurs, desirous of starting and operating a successful home business. Operating a home business is one thing but operating an efficient and successful home business is a different ball game altogether. There are certain success factors that no wise entrepreneur should ever dare ignore if he hopes to succeed in his home business and here they are.
1. Confidence and Self Motivation:
The most important success factor required for success is to have confidence in your own self. This is possible only when you believe in yourself that you can succeed and remain self motivated all along.
2. Hard Work and Effort:
Once you are confident that you can achieve your objective, you have to put in a lot of hard work and effort. To beat the competition and to operate a successful home business, you have to keep on working while others have stopped, are sleeping or are enjoying themselves and having a good time. This is easily said than done but success often comes only to those who are prepared to do just this and burn the midnight oil.
3. Ability to achieve Goals:
Additionally Success comes only to those who can achieve their goals. To many, the main stumbling block that stands in the way of this success factor is procrastination. Though many people have a tendency to procrastinate, you should ensure that procrastination does not take control over you. If you allow this to happen, success will continue to be only a dream.
4. Capability to take Risks:
This is a very critical success factor. Any successful businessman will tell you that unless you are prepared to take a reasonable amount of risk you can never achieve success. This is true because if you wait for everything to fall into place before venturing out on anything, the day might never come. So be prepared to take that reasonable amount of risk. At the same time you have to develop the ability to make the correct judgment.
5. Knowledge about your Business:
An important contributory success factor for operating a successful home business is to be knowledgeable about your business. You have to keep on updating your knowledge and keep abreast with the developments taking place especially in your area of business activity.
6. Previous Experience:
This is certainly a plus factor for any entrepreneur. Anyone starting from scratch has to start right from the beginning, unlike someone who has had some experience in his chosen field of activity. The more the experience he has gathered running his own business or working for someone else the easier it is going to be to run a successful home business.
7. Ability to Sell:
Your ability to sell your product is an important success factor. Not everyone possesses the skill to sell a product. If you don’t possess that, then you have to develop that skill by attending special courses or seminars.
8. Balanced Temperament:
Unlike any other regular job, you are taking a certain amount of risk when you start a business. Things may not always turn out the way you wanted it to be. There can be periods of ups and downs and highs and lows. This may often be just a passing phase. Nevertheless it is only when you have a balanced temperament you will be able to withstand the pressures, come out of it successfully and operate a successful home business.
Conclusion:
Successful home business entrepreneurs did not possess all these success factors when they started their businesses. They developed these over a period of time through hard work commitment and dedication. If you believe in yourself and remain motivated there is no reason why you too cannot acquire these success factors and operate a successful home business.

Preparing For and Making a Career Change
Preparing For and Making a Career Change
Their “career”, whatever it was, only existed to get a regular income. The millions of people who did the football pools, and later the lottery, were a testimony to the “let me out of here” dreams of the majority. “Win the pools, and retire.”
Times may have changed in general, but the fact that most people are not content with their jobs has remained unchanged. Career, employer or job change, or early retirement, are in the minds of tens of millions of people across the world. Only a small minority will ever actually go full out for a career change; it is far too easy just to plod along doing the same old things in the same old place.
However, some people are more serious. These are the people with “get up and go” who actually do get up and go. These are the people who really do change their working lives, sometimes drastically.
Why Do Some People Want to Change Careers?
There are many possible reasons for wanting a career change. The following are just a few of the more common ones.
1. To some people, being in the same job, or even the same type of job, for too long is just unthinkable. I certainly fall into this category, and personally think total career changes can be a vital contributor to a satisfying life. I always want to learn something new, and do something new, once I have mastered what I was doing before. New challenges are an essential part of every day life.
2. Midlife career changes might be the result of a sort of career midlife crisis. This can particularly be so for someone who has always done the same job, and suddenly realise their years are slipping away and they have really done very little with their working years.
3. Dissatisfaction with a current employer, either in terms of recognition, prospects or pay.
4. Boredom is a common cause of wanting a career change.
5. Lack of fulfilment in the current career or employment.
The above are some of the broad reasons people may seek a career change, but each individual is likely to have a different mix of reasons to consider changing their career.
Tips For Preparing for a Career Change
There are many sources of career change advice, both online and offline. Sometimes this can be given on an individual basis, or just in the form of written material which you can consume at your leisure. As a career is a personal matter, and all individuals are different, then pesonal consultation is better by far. However, advisors are individuals too, and the advice may vary from from career counselor to career counselor.
The quality and quantity of career change advice available to you offline will vary greatly between countries and localities, and you may find that some of the online advice is, at least in part, to one country, particularly the US. However, the following career change tips can apply to anyone, anywhere, and are based on my own experience; they may not appear anywhere else, might be considered unconventional, but are designed to get you thinking and planning well in advance for one or a series of career changes:
1. Travel as widely as possible. I do not mean go on vacation with a million other holidaymakers on a well trodden path, but broaden your mind, experience and understanding through travelling in other countries of various cultures. It is best to travel alone for maximum experience. With hindsight, I am sure that my travels as a 20 year old and younger helped to give me the flexibility and adaptability to make a sudden move from one life direction to another. When travelling freely, you can always go just where you want to go, and the same can be true of your working life, or careers, if you have that flexible attitude from the beginning.
2. Most people have interests and talents that are quite separate from their primary career ambition. Always try to develop those skills and talents in parallel to your existing or imminent career. The more skills you have, the more knowledge you have, the more likely it is that, when the time comes to make a career change, it will be that much easier.
3. When in a chosen career, always add new skills and keep up to date with developments in that career. The opportunity may come along for you to specialize within that career, or diversify from it.
4. Plan your life in 5 year blocks. It is amazing how much can be achieved and changed in 5 years. My own life and working life bear little resemblance to even 7 years ago, and has changed drastically in the last 4 years. Formulating a 5 year plan for yourself at 20, 25, 30 and so on can be a great help in getting your prepared for all sorts of changes and developments. When formulating that plan, consider your career options during that coming period, and what you can do over that 5 years to prepare yourself for a career change beyond that 5 year period.
5. Have a program of self improvement to increase your confidence and prevent or overcome fear. Many people stay in the same job far too long, because of fear of change. Using meditation and relaxation techniques can help in this area of your life.
6. Keep control of your finances, and develop a financial success system . Always budget effectively, and never spend beyond your means. Always think in terms of building your assets. Saving from your monthly and income, and learning to invest wisely, can help you build wealth while most of those around you are borrowing, overspending, and digging a financial grave.
Why is a financial success system important when it comes to career change planning? Poor finances can be an inhibiting factor in making a career change. If your finances are in good shape, and you have adequate reserves, you have more time to switch successfully to a new career, even a new way of life. Financial fear can be a big drawback to making a career change.
By adopting some or all of the above tips, you should find yourself better prepared in the future to make a career change. Hopefully, that career change will be one that has evolved from your own desires, your own plans. However, sometimes career changes are forced by redundancy, technical developments in your chosen career, companies being taken over or going bust, outsourcing or other change in your working environment. Be prepared.

Stress Management Program and Brain Fitness?
Stress Management Program and Brain Fitness?
Your stress management program is an inside job. In other words, stress is a physiology that exists inside my body. Most of us have learned to link the external world to our physiology, by blaming the outside for the inside.
(For example, I will not have stress when I earn more money. That is not necessarily true).
In order to manage that physiology I am going to have to manage my inside chemistry, which is linked to my perceptions, what I think, how I breathe, my heart rate variability coherence, how I eat…any number of variables.
When I am advocating a stress management plan to my clients, I like to use the brain fitness model, which is based on enhancing the recently discovered capacity of the human brain to grow more neurons.
That capacity is called neurogenesis, and neurogenesis is hampered if not stopped by an exposure to stress hormones, according to Simon Evans,Ph.D. and Paul Burghardt,Ph.D., authors of the excellent book Brainfit for Life. Evans and Burghardt talk in clear language about the necessary steps to enhancing neurogenesis and neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to form new connections subsequent to learning new information, sometimes within minutes.
And Evans and Burghardt emphasize the need to review that new information so your brain solidifies the new circuits and keeps them.
The brain is a big user of energy, and the brain is very efficient at eliminating unnecessary circuits in order to conserve energy.
But back to the plan to enhance neurogenesis by following a brain fitness program.
The Pillars of Brain Fitness and Your Stress Management Program
We know by now that the reward for following a lifestyle based on attending to the four pillars of brain fitness is a bigger brain through neurogenesis, and I lean to the side of the discussion that says a bigger brain is a good thing.
So what are the pillars of brain fitness?
They are physical exercise, nutrition including lots of omega 3 fatty acid and antioxidants, good sleep, stress management (!), and novel learning experiences.
Physical Exercise and Your Stress Management Plan
Evans and Burghardt go into great detail about how physical exercise is the most important brain fitness pillar.
And there is good news for you if you think that you will be required to throw around heavy barbells and buy expensive gym memberships just to have new neurons. After all, how important can new brain growth be?
Well, actually the physical activity required for your stress management program and your brain fitness is exercise of the deep breathing kind, and if you are walking around the block, walk a little faster for a little longer to signal your brain that your are serious about the growth of new neurons.
Nutritional Pillar of Your Stress Management As you might expect, nutrition is very important to both your stress management program and your brain fitness. It is imperative that you quit eating processed food. No way around it, you need the phytochemicals, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, ect. from real food, not food that is designed to outlast the effects of a nuclear war.
Your brain uses about 20% of the fuel you burn daily, so there are a lot of chemical reactions in your head, all of which can release free radicals, which cause the aging process.
Antioxidants sop up those free radicals for you, so eat a lot of fruit and vegetables to keep antioxidants available.
Omega 3 fatty acid is important to your stress management and brain fitness because your neurons are about 70% omega 3 fatty acid and if that supply of fatty acid is not replenished, those neurons get brittle and do not effectively communicate.
Garbled chat between neurons is not good. The best source of omega 3 fatty acid is fish, or you can supplement.
Stress Reduction By Heart Rate Variability?
I have been a user and teacher of heart rate variability biofeedback, now called emWave, for about ten years. I love it. Regular practice has given me the ability to manage the inside of my body heart beat by heart beat when I choose to pay attention to the brain in my heart.
What I mean by that is there are still times when I choose to stress myself unnecessarily, and even to keep that distress when I could have the heart rate variability biofeedback eustress. Progress not perfection.
But I was really amazed to see the endorsement of this biofeedback tool by Alvaro Fernandez, who is the author of the SharpBrains blog which tracks all things brain fitness.
So if you want to explore a heart beat by heart beat stress management plan, then then by all means try out heart rate variability biofeedback.
What Can Possibly Be Stress Reducing About Novel Learning Experiences?
Novel learning experience is important for bringing those new neurons into existing circuits, where they can begin to help out building cognitive reserve, which is very important if your brain happens to be one of the Baby Boomer brains, or really important if your brain is a Senior brain.
Novel learning experience is usually catagorized for our brain fitness purposes as the kind of learning that happens when you learn a new language or a new instrument.
If you are like me, you do not have time to put into a language or instrument, so using one of the newly minted computerized brain fitness programs could be beneficial.
Can you imagine yourself following a stress management program based on the four pillars of brain fitness?
I can. I will take relaxation and a bigger brain as an worthy endgame.
